Building A Future Career
This week the Year 10 Construction students visited the Bordon Future Skills Centre which is under construction before opening in September this year, and is part of Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT).
The students heard a short presentation from Interserve, who are the main contractor on site, and a video which explained how to go about applying for an Apprenticeship with them. The students then donned high-vis clothes and hard hats and had a tour of the building which is still being constructed. They were given a copy of the builders’ plans and were guided around the development, which will be able to accommodate up to 120 students specifically for the construction industry.
George Jones commented, “It was excellent - really interesting to learn more about the construction industry.”
