Students Have Designs On Petersfield Skate Jam
TPS students entered a competition to design a poster and flyer to advertise the Petersfield Skate Jam on Saturday 22 July - a free event including skate competitions, BMX, rollerblades, scooters and pro skater demonstrations.
There were some excellent entries, but the winner chosen by PCSO Morning on behalf of the organisers was an acrylic painting by Year 7 Ruby Hill. Ruby said, “I got the idea during a Science lesson when we were looking at triangles and they give a sense of movement to the skateboarder.”
Close runner-up was a dual effort by Ella Hughes and Phoebe Hiscox - a colourful collage which really captures the vibrancy and excitement of skating.
PCSO Morning presented the students with their prizes - art materials and a voucher from Academy Arts. The girls’ artwork will now be used on all posters and flyers to publicise the event.
