Taster Day at Trinity Laban Leads to Audition Success

Year 8 Ed Lawrence has been dancing since the age of 4 with the Petersfield Academy of Dance (PAD) and is an active member of the Performing Arts Faculty - performing in Rock Challenge and the Boys Dance Group.

Earlier this year, Ed attended a taster day at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, participating in various street dance, parkour and contemporary dance workshops.

He was then invited to audition for the CAT programme (Centre for Advanced Training) at Trinity Laban - an innovative scheme offering young people with exceptional talent and potential in dance the opportunity to access high quality dance training. The programme of classes provides intensive and rigorous dance training taught by a highly experienced team of professional dance teachers and artists.

He was one of the lucky few amongst hundreds of applicants to get a call back and was offered a place, starting in September!  Every Saturday he will travel to London for a day of dance training and technique.

Ed said, “I am so pleased to have got in and I am really looking forward to starting.  I know that it will be really hard work, but it will be worth it.  My ambition is to get into a dance company when I am older.”
