Sports Day 2017
The weather for this year’s Sports Day was just right - not too hot, not too cold. A record number of students in Years 7 to 10 participated in the track and field events, and others got involved in the House Parade in the afternoon.
There were some relay records broken by boys in years 8, 9 and 10, and Year 7 Joe Chinnock was 0.5secs off the 100m record!
The Year results were as follows:
Year 7 Redgrave
Year 8 Mirren
Year 9 Kingsley
Year 10 Joseph
The overall winning House was Redgrave.
Organiser Mr Dave Alvarez said, “There was an absolutely amazing atmosphere all day, and many athletes came very close to breaking records which have stood for over 25 years. 3 records were broken which demonstrates how hard each student has worked in the lead up to Sports Day. It was great to see so many parents watching the final sprints in the afternoon and enjoying the introduction of the House Parade. A huge well done to all those involved!”
