Netball Round Up

It has been another bumper week of netball.  The U16s started the week with a double win at the League tournament hosted at Crookhorn. The girls played Cowplain and Oaklands which were both fantastic games to umpire and to watch. Daisy Brown and Megan Ferry found their feet and became a huge threat in defence to put the opposition under pressure. Emily Bicknell and Sofie Moller were voted players player. The U16 team is currently 3rd in the league.

At training this week, we saw nearly 100 girls attending with 65 girls from Year 7 and 8 and 30 girls in the senior team.  I have decided to trial training on a Thursday as well for Years 7 and 8, although they are still welcome to attended on a Tuesday.

The U14s were keen to find some friendlies to develop their skills and game play. The girls were lucky enough to find friendlies against Cowplain and Oaklands where they managed to win both games. Millie Smith had a tremendous game as GK, finding a new position within the team, and she was voted players player. Amber Murray played as C against Oaklands and interfered with their game making it difficult for Oaklands to get the ball down the court, and was voted players player for her fantastic interception.

Netball Club is open to all students of all year groups and welcomes new players every week.

Same again next week, ladies.
