Launch of Lifelines
Last Friday, 16 students from Years 9 and 10 took part in the launch of Lifelines: a STEM programme designed to offer a glimpse into the daily life of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Ambulance Critical Care team and their work, with the aim to inspire, motivate and raise aspirations of our future generation.
The event took place at Bohunt Sixth Form in Liphook and comprised students from both TPS and Bohunt School. Students were treated to a visit from the Air Ambulance which flew on to the school field. They then spent the morning taking part in a range of activities such as replicating the calculations that the pilots carry out on a daily basis to ensure that they fly safely and efficiently to a mission; hearing from the doctors what happens in an emergency scenario involving lung trauma, and having a go at practising techniques on a dummy.
A big thank you to Bohunt for inviting us along to a fantastic morning!
