Trip to Sadler's Wells
Last week, 75 students in Years 9 to 11 studying GCSE Dance attended a student matinee of “A Linha Curva” by Rambert at Sadler’s Wells in London. This has been described as “Rambert’s party piece: a riotous explosion of colourful, samba-fuelled dance. The work features 28 performers, a massed bank of percussion and dramatic lighting - the cumulative effect has audiences on their feet and cheering (once they’ve got their breath back)”.
Students found the experience to be “Insane”, “Unbelievable”, “So much better live!”
Students are required to study the work for their GCSE Dance theory course and have been studying from a recording. We hope the experience gives them more depth of understanding for their final exam.
