A Lead Role in London Children's Ballet Production
One of our talented dancers, Jamie Cooper, was jumping for joy last night when he found out that he has been cast as the juvenile second male lead in the London Children's Ballet production of The Canterville Ghost at the Peacock Theatre, London in April, dancing the role of Washington Otis.
Jamie auditioned alongside 670 other young hopefuls, and only 60 were taken through for the final cast. There was then a casting session where the dancers had to learn several parts, and the final selection was confirmed yesterday.
Jamie said, “I only heard late last night, and I am so happy - the competition was tough, so I feel very privileged to get it. And almost as exciting - I found out that I have gained Distinction in my recent Grade 5 Ballet exam!”
