An Insight Into The World Of Professional Performance

It was after her younger sister started lessons that Year 10 student Gabriella Goldfarb first took an interest in ballet at the age of 7.  After attending a local dance school, she applied for the English National Ballet’s youth dance company - ENBYouthCo - last May, and was one of only 20 out of 80 hopefuls to get in.

Gaby has been going up to London every Friday after school and monthly on Sundays to attend classes and rehearsals, and with several upcoming shows, this will increase significantly.  One high profile performance is “Dance Journeys: Chrysalis” which will be performed at Sadler’s Wells Theatre on 18 April. The ENBYouthCo will play a pivotal role alongside the English National Ballet School and the English National Ballet Company. They will also be joined by students from four West London secondary schools to make a company of 100 young dancers.

Gaby said, “ENBYouthCo has given me a unique opportunity to gain insight into the world of professional performance.  It’s great to work with so many different people, and I hope to take this further as a career.”
