Health & Social Care Visit to SUH
On Tuesday, Mrs Marshall and Mrs Heath took a group of Year 10 Health and Social Care students to visit an NHS careers event at Southampton University Hospital.
The students had a whistle-stop tour of the 350+ different jobs that are available in the NHS. Some of the careers they were able to explore were Genetic Counselling, Radiography and Ophthalmology and they were able to have an interactive experience and ask the professionals all about their careers paths.
After examining their own DNA, they went into a mock hospital theatre and experienced what is like when the team have to act quickly in an emergency.
The students thoroughly enjoyed their day and the visit has confirmed to them all that they would like to further explore a career working in this field.
