Success at Foreign Language Spelling Bee

Last Monday Year 7 students Sam Burchett, Oscar Harley and Max Halder went to the South East Regional Finals of the Foreign Language Spelling Bee competition.

They had one minute to translate and spell as many German words as possible. The competition was fierce and all three boys performed very well. A total of 2730 students started the competition back in September and Max Halder emerged as the overall winner for the German section!  He will go through to the National Final which is being held in Cambridge at the end of June.

Max said, “It was a great opportunity and I am really proud to have won!”

Sam added, “If you try your best, you can really do anything you want.”

Oscar concluded, “It was very tense and close at the end, but it was a great experience.”

Well done to all three boys!
