A Close Shave...
After a close family friend lost his life to cancer at just 16, Year 9 Sophie Morris wanted to find a way to support young people with cancer.
Sophie decided that she could fundraise by having her head shaved and donate the hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which uses the hair to make wigs for young cancer patients. She also wants to raise funds for the Sebastians Action Trust, a charity which provides holiday homes for families of children with life-limiting illnesses, and which was invaluable when her friend was ill.
Sophie said, “My original target was £300, but £400 has already been donated on my Just Giving page, so my new target is £500! We went to the Sebastians Trust holiday home -The Bluebells - with my friend Jack and his family before he died, and everyone there was so friendly and helpful.”
Sophie will be at Belle de Vie hairdressers in Petersfield on 2 June where friends and family will cut off her hair before a stylist shaves it to a “No 2” and bleaches it.
If you would like to support Sophie, please make a donation on her Just Giving page - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/skinheadsophie
