TPS is the biggest Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre in Hampshire
It’s official - out of 101 Hampshire County Council Duke of Edinburgh Award schools, colleges and open centres, TPS had the most enrolments at 133 students and also the most students (105) to complete their DofE Bronze Award between April 2017 and March 2018!
Stuart Cousens, DofE Advisor at Hampshire County Council, said, “A huge achievement! Congratulations on being the biggest and most awards achieved centre in Hampshire County Council!!”
TPS DofE Co-ordinator, Jenny Warner, said, “I am so proud of our Year 11 students, who have all worked hard and shown great enthusiasm, resilience and ambition in completing their Award. The current Year10s have just completed both practice expeditions in the South Downs, staying overnight at the Sustainability Centre. We had the largest group out camping in the history of TPS and a fully packed campsite, thanks to the TPS Development Fund who helped provide us with brand new tents and rucksacks to make these expeditions possible. We look forward to the upcoming assessment expeditions taking place in West Sussex during June and July.”
