Seren's Success in Ballet

Year 7 Seren Perring took part in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Senior Ballet Awards at Bird College last weekend. Her dance teacher chose her and 4 others from her current ballet grade 4 to take part in the Awards.

Being asked to take part in the Awards is quite an achievement in itself, as the dancers have to attain a high enough mark in their exam to be able to be entered. Seren danced beautifully in her class, earning her a place as one of only 7 from her class of 23 in the final. Although she did not place in the final, she again danced beautifully, making her dance teachers and parents extremely proud.  Seren started ballet at the age of 2 at the Timestep Academy of Dance in Portchester where she still trains.

She has also just been offered a place with Ballet Boost Associates in Richmond for additional ballet training on Sundays from September.

She said, “It’s really exciting and I am looking forward to training at Ballet Boost.  My future ambition is to dance, sing and act – I love performing arts.”
