Former Senior Prefect Lands Principal Role
Former Deputy Head Boy Dash Buckley always made the most of the performing arts opportunities offered here at TPS - and just one year after leaving, he has been offered a principal role in a new musical in London!
“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is based on the short story by Washington Irving which has been commissioned by the National Youth Musical Theatre and will be presented at The Other Palace Theatre in London from 22-25 August.
New England, 1833: A body is laid to rest in the shadowy town of Sleepy Hollow. A grieving little girl stands alone at the graveside, and the townsfolk talk in hushed tones of the strange events that led her to this place; tales of witches and ghouls, of wailing banshees and headless horsemen, and of course the tale of Ichabod Crane - once merely a man, now a terrifying legend.
For 40 years the award-winning National Youth Music Theatre has represented the very best in work with young people in musical theatre, leading Andrew Lloyd Webber to describe it as “the best youth music theatre in the world”.
Dash said, “I auditioned in February where I had to sing, dance and act. I was thrilled when I heard that I had got the part of Klaus. The rehearsals have been full on and hard work but it’s so exciting working with such a well-regarded company!”
