Tate to Tate
Last week Visual Arts students from Year 9 visited London to be inspired and influenced by a huge variety of artwork.
They visited Tate Britain in the morning to look at incredible Constable, Turner and Millais paintings together with more modern pieces by Henry Moore, Andy Warhol and the extremely intriguing “The Squash” by Anthea Hamilton. This involved a performance artist dressed as a squash moving slowly around the gallery!
After sailing down the Thames past the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye, the group visited Tate Modern. Inspired by the vibrant, often intimidating and unusual artwork, a standout piece by the artist Jordan Wolfson had everyone captivated, if slightly confused and disturbed!
