Ed Lawrence in Sell-Out Performance at Nuffield Theatre
In September Year 10 student Ed Lawrence joined Fuzzy Logic, a boys dance group run by Zoie Golding of ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, which challenges the perceptions of dance, who it’s for, where and how it’s shown.
Recently Ed performed in “Head Funk” – a sell-out dance piece about men’s mental health – at the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton. As part of the programme, Zoie Golding created dances and encouraged male disabled groups to come up on stage.
Ed rehearses weekly with Fuzzy Logic. They are now working on a piece about how external forces can influence you, in the form of a ship and massive waves, and will be touring theatres in the area soon. Ed is also on a contemporary dance programme for under 18s at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London every weekend.
He said, “I want to do contemporary dance as a career, so after A-Levels I want to go to a Contemporary Dance Conservatoire like Trinity Laban.”
