Forest School

Year 8 students took part in Forest School this week.

Forest School is based on developing self-esteem, confidence, independence and responsibility in young people of all ages and abilities. It is achieved through hands-on and outdoor experiences within the natural environment, using tools and natural resources. It teaches young people to safely evaluate risks for themselves and to responsibly engage in new activities. Self-motivation, independence, teamwork and problem solving are all fostered through this approach.

Here are a few pictures showing the students learning new skills in tool use and fire-making!
