Welcome to the TPS website.

The Petersfield School is a mixed 11 - 16 Foundation School with over 1200 pupils on roll. We have been an Arts College since 2004, specialising in the Performing Arts (Dance, Drama, Music). In 2009 we have begun the process of becoming a Trust School, working with educational and business partners to further improve our school.

We are the town’s own state school and admit students from a wide geographical area, including south of the town and nearby areas of West Sussex.

Our students always achieve well in GCSE exams, gaining results well above national averages - this year 79% of students gained 5+ A*-C grades.

Our aim is to provide a world class education for all our students so that they are ready to meet the challenges of life in the 21st century. We are proud of our achievements and have plenty of awards which reflect them such as Artsmark Gold, Healthy Schools, Sportsmark and Investors in People.

We are most proud of the ethos which pervades the school. It is a very happy place and students like coming here - we have one of the highest attendance rates in the county, for example.

The vast majority of our students go on to study courses at Alton College, South Downs College and Havant College, and we regularly hear of ex-students gaining places at good universities including Oxford and Cambridge.

There is plenty to do in and out of the classroom and we aim to offer students a wide range of extra curricular opportunities.
