On Monday 14 November the Year 7 netball team played their first tournament. We were entered into Pool A where we faced several good team including Crookhorn, Hayling College, Purbrook and Havant Academy. Some superb shooting from Elizabeth Hedley and some great attacking play from Nicole Ralph gave us the edge in many games and the girls looked like a team on a mission.
We won all our games and got through to the semi finals where we faced Park Community College. This was a close match at the beginning but as soon as we got our shooting range we took the lead and dominated the second half, winning 3-0.
The girls found themselves in the finals against our local rival - Horndean. Both teams played a great match and it was so close throughout, leaving the scores at half time 3-3. It was only the last two minutes in the second half where Horndean pulled away and scored two goals to snatch the game to their victory.
The girls received their runner up medals and immediately looked back on how successful we were and how proud everyone was of the team’s achievements in their first tournament. Well done girls.
