Mayor's Christmas Card Competition

The annual Mayor’s Christmas Card competition attracted a large number of high quality entries from GCSE Photography Students and TPS Photography Club members.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Petersfield, George & Jackie Watkinson, took time out from their busy pre Christmas schedule to join student photographers at TPS last week to announce the winners. First place went to Eliot Finch for his photograph capturing the local beauty of the local landscape of Petersfield in its winter aspect; second was Imogen Andrews with for her seasonal photograph of Christmas Baubles and third was Jordan Bleach with his image of wintering birds at one of our local wildlife spots, the Heath.

Mr Watkinson spent time with students discussing the images. He also commented on the high quality of entries from the Photography students, adding that he felt that Elliot’s work was particularly appropriate and well executed.

Joy Jones, TPS’s specialist Photography teacher, welcomed the interest shown throughout. "We had an excellent turn out and response to the competition and it’s fantastic to celebrate the talent and creativity of our students. Eliot and Imogen’s work will showcase the ability of TPS students nationally on the Mayor’s Christmas Card which will be sent out across the United Kingdom.”
