Year 9 students got creative this week in RE making 3D
models of a Buddhist shrine. They had to design, make and explain their
shrines and many students went above and beyond the task brief. There were also
some tasty designs, with two groups making their shrines out of cake!
Religion, Philosophy & Ethics teacher, Mrs Bradberry,
said, "I was so proud and dazzled by their commitment to the project and the
effort and attention to detail they put in. There was a real buzz in the
room as they were making their shrines and many insightful questions were
raised from their exploration of Buddhist Worship”.
Emily Barry said, "I really enjoyed doing this project: it
brought the religion to life in the classroom and allowed me to explore a
different way of life. I am really looking forward to meeting the
Buddhist Monks from Chithurst and asking them lots of questions about their
beliefs”.
