Mock Interview Day
Today, each Year 11 student is being given the opportunity to be interviewed by individuals from the local business community, parents, TPS Governors and Further Education College representatives. The aim of the day is to show students how they present at an interview in preparation for the world of work, and some have opted to wear smart interview clothes instead of their uniform. Following the interview, students will be given feedback on areas such as the presentation of their CV, their appearance, body language and overall impression.
At the end of the day, 12 students will be chosen as overall ‘top candidates’ and will be presented later with an award in a celebration assembly. This Mock Interview Day is always a very valuable experience for students, allowing them to practise their interview skills and gain insight into what a good CV should look like before leaving school and attempting to find employment.
Careers Co-ordinator, Alistair Clewley said, “It is an invaluable experience for the students and we are very grateful to everyone who has given up their time to help.”
