BBC School Report Practice News Day

16 eager journalists gathered to create some newsworthy videos to be downloaded to the BBC website in time for the whole country to see on the BBC CBBC News on Tuesday.

The students spent the day writing and presenting interesting topical stories that deserve to be heard.  Being in BBC School Report gives the participants the opportunity to improve their writing and presenting skills. Charlotte Avery said, ‘It gives us the confidence to present stories that mean something to us, and share the views and opinions of our students and teachers.” A year 8 student, Jasmine said “I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”

Harry Geeves and Phoebe Stone acted as confident, amazing presenters!  They showed great skill and wowed everyone with their articulate and breezy speaking voices.

The big breaking news story of the TPS day was the Maths Magician!  Toby and Archie worked on this story and interviewed Ms Colenso and the magician himself.  The results can be viewed on the BBC News Report website and the school website under Student – BBC School Report.

Mrs Bradford commented, “The day has been great fun and we all enjoyed it.  We are looking forward to the real School News Report Day on Thursday 19 March 2015.  If more students want to take part, come to the BBC News after school club which I run every Friday in E3.”
