Olivia in the swim
Olivia Bonner’s mother is diabetic and so the Year 7 student wanted to raise money for diabetes research.
Olivia has just two miles left to go in the “Swim the English Channel Challenge” - 22 miles. She has averaged between 4 and 5 miles a week and so far has raised £350.
Her mother, Ysanne, said, “Less than 40 years ago I was using glass syringes, huge needles and pig insulin, now I am lucky enough to be on an insulin pump which is blue toothed to my blood sugar meter. This is how much things can change when there is constant research and that is why Olivia wanted to take on the challenge.”
Well done, Olivia.
