Health & Social Care trip
Yesterday Year 11 Health & Social Care students enjoyed a trip to Priory School to attend a health event.
The students listened to health professionals while they presented information about the many jobs available within health care and demonstrated how to use some routine care equipment. The students were then able to demonstrate their skills by practising on the equipment: they learnt to take blood from a fake arm and studied images through a special device measuring retina health as well as monitoring their heart rate and blood pressure.
Health & Social Care teacher, Mrs Marshall, said, “This event provided the students with an insight into daily monitoring of health and well-being and is valuable experience to support their studies in Health and Social Care.”
