Musicians through to next stage of ACM competition
Four of our talented GCSE Music students entered a competition through the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) Guildford to win a recording session at Metropolis Recording Studios in London.
They were up against several other schools and Sixth Form colleges from Hampshire and London, and all of our TPS students made it through to the second stage, where judges from the ACM watched them perform at their live showcase at Open Mic Night last night in the TPS Studio.
Rhiannan Tebbey began with her heartfelt and poignant song giving a very strong message about mental health awareness - ‘Listen’; followed by Emilia Quinn singing her song ‘No Sympathy’ and accompanying herself on piano, and finally Joe Kinder and Stanley Lyons with their band performing their song ‘Whatever’.
The performers all received feedback from the guest judges, who commended their excellent performance skills, creativity in their songwriting and overall presentation of the songs. Stanley Lyons and Joe Kinder have been selected to go through to the next round of the competition, where they will perform at ACM in Guildford against the other 6 finalists.
