Prize Giving Evening
Last night, more than 100 students from Years 7 to 10 were recognised for their consistent commitment to a subject, excellent performance, progress and endeavour at the annual Prize Giving Evening at The Festival Hall.
The programme for the evening started with music by the school’s String Ensemble before newly appointed Head Boy and Head Girl, Joe Kinder and Jessica Minton, welcomed everyone. Year 7 students William Doe and Lily Hickman-Hall reflected on their past year at TPS, and then the school Choir sang “Shallow” from “A Star is Born”. Year 10 students Adam Richardson and Jennifer Church described the exciting opportunities they have enjoyed this year, and then Chair of Governors Dr Ben Francombe presented the prizes to all the students. This was followed by a Cello duet by Beatrice Mesney and Amelie Lewis.
Dr Francombe is stepping down as Chair of Governors at the end of the year, and he gave a heartfelt and witty speech before being presented with a framed photograph of the aerial shot of “TPS” on the playing field, made up of students, staff and Governors.
Everyone then gathered in the Rose Room for refreshments.
