A Fabulous Sunshine-Filled Open Morning

Last weekend over 400 students gave up their Saturday morning to help host our Open Morning where visitors were treated to a packed programme of activities in glorious sunshine: driving our Greenpower car around a course, a football goal-scoring challenge on the Astro, trampolining in the Sports Hall, petting ponies at Horse Riding Club, trying a spot of sub-aqua in a special pool for Scuba Diving Club, toasting marshmallows on a fire with the Sustainability Centre.

And that’s before the families toured our departments, where there were some fun interactive displays and hands-on challenges.  Our student bands entertained everyone with a medley of tunes from the bandstand, and there was a sneak preview of rehearsals for our forthcoming major new musical “Fame”

Mr Marande gave a Principal’s address three times in the Hall, supported by Head Boy and Head Girl, Joe Kinder and Jess Minton, and two Year 8 students, John Hickmott and Tilly Toft Madsen.

Visitors were highly complimentary about their experience, and we hope to be able to welcome them into our school in future.  Remember: the deadline for Year 6 into Year 7 applications is midday on 31 October 2019.
