Last Sunday, Year 10 Lilly Barnes took part in the British Taekwondo Council (BTC) National Championships in Worcester, and came away with an impressive hoard of medals:
Gold for Girls Middleweight Green Belt Individual Sparring; Gold for Girls Middleweight Yellow/Green Belt Team Sparring, and Silver for Girls Green Belt Patterns.
Colin Sayer, Head Instructor of the Taekwondo Club here at TPS, said, “Lilly is a credit to you as a school, not only working hard at her Taekwondo, but also making herself available to help others in class. She represents all the core values of Taekwondo to the highest standard – Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit.”
Lilly now faces the British Taekwondo Nationals in November, which will be her first chance to get noticed by the GB Taekwondo Squad Coaches.
Mr Sayer concluded: “I have no doubt in my mind that she will grab their attention for all the right reasons and move forward on her dream to compete in the Olympics at Taekwondo.”
Well done, Lilly, we are proud of you!
