The effort and achievements of students from Years 7 to 10 were recognised at our Celebration Evening at the Festival Hall.
Teachers had been asked to nominate students from each year group for consistent commitment to a subject, and 90 students and their families gathered to listen to our Jazz Band and Singers before and during the ceremony.
Principal Mark Marande introduced our Guest Speaker, former TPS student Major Rich Pillans, chief test pilot for Boeing and Chief Executive of the Historic Army Aircraft Flight. Rich talked about his school days and how he got into flying, emphasising the need for commitment, resilience and teamwork, linking this with our school ethos of Enjoy Respect Achieve.
After presenting the students with Certificates of Achievement and gift cards, Major Pillans handed over to Chair of Governors Mike Robinson to conclude the evening with a vote of thanks, and everyone then enjoyed drinks in the Rose Room.
