TPS celebrates record breaking GCSE success!

Students at The Petersfield School, part of the high achieving Bohunt Education Trust (BET), are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results, enabling them to embark confidently on the next stage of their education journey.

The 2025 cohort have achieved record-breaking results, whilst demonstrating great resilience, commitment and determination during their time at the school.  Students have once again made outstanding progress, with over 84% achieving a grade 4 (grade C) or above in both English and maths, the highest achievement in the history of the school!  Additionally, over a third of all the grades awarded at TPS today were at the top grade 7 to 9 (A*/A) level.  

The accomplishments of students were celebrated across the board. Particular highlights include: 

• Eve B, our outgoing Head Girl from Westbourne, achieved a staggering ELEVEN straight grade 9 GCSEs (A**)! This is something that only a very small number of students across the whole country achieve each year.  Eve said, “I am so pleased with my results! I have had such an amazing time at TPS. I am now going to study biology, chemistry, maths and sociology”.  Eve is going on to study at our joint Sixth Form at Bohunt School and plans to study medicine, potentially at Bristol university.
• Jack G, from Petersfield, achieved eight grade 9 (A**) and three grade 8 (A*) GCSEs.  Jack said, “I am going to Bohunt Sixth Form to study maths, biology and chemistry. I have so many great memories of TPS and I would like to thank all our teachers for their help along the way!”
• Sam N, our outgoing Head Boy from Petersfield, achieved seven grade 9 (A**) and four grade 8 (A*) GCSEs. He is going to Churcher’s College to study economics, maths and chemistry.
• Immy S, from Horndean, achieved one grade 9, five grade 8s (A*) and two grade 7s (A) GCSEs.  We are especially proud of Immy’s achievements and determination considering her significant personal challenges, with her father very sadly passing away from MND during the exam period.  Immy said, “I didn’t think I was going to do as well as I have done and have greatly appreciated all the help and support of everyone at TPS.  I am looking forward to studying business at college.”
• Konstantin S, achieved strong passes in all of his subjects – truly remarkable given that he has only been in the UK since 2022 when he fled the war in Ukraine.  Konstantin said, “Thank you all for your support during my GCSE preparation, I have had a wonderful time and am very grateful to all my teachers at TPS for believing in me.”

Several subjects secured truly remarkable results with over 85% of the students achieving grades 4 to 9 (A* to C) included English, maths, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, drama, dance, music, art,  sociology, media and Mandarin.

This year’s results reflect The Petersfield School’s commitment to BET’s ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’, which underpins the culture and outcomes of all its schools. This includes delivering unparalleled educational opportunities and highly effective teaching to nurture and develop students into becoming “game-changers”.

Together, BET and The Petersfield School aim to support young people to flourish throughout their school journeys and then on into later life, with educational, enrichment and pastoral support both inside and outside the classroom.
