TPS musicians took to the stage at Victorious Festival in Portsmouth last Sunday and they did us proud!
Oliver P, Year 10 and Fleur A, Year 11 were the first act to play the AMP stage on Sunday at midday and warmed the crowd up beginning with “Valerie”, then “Radioactive” and finishing with a lively rendition of “Mr Brightside” with a twist of Ed Sheeran! It was clear that they had been working hard rehearsing their set which was so well-polished, including fine-tuned vocal harmonies, guitar solos, and with brilliant interaction with the crowd.
The second TPS act to perform was Year 11 band Electric Nerds- Ossian W-S on keys, Alexi C on vocals and electric guitar, Sam B on trumpet, Charlie W on bass and Finley W on drums. The band performed “Country House”, with a smooth transition into “Superstition”, and finished their set with “Hey Jude”. Again, really well-rehearsed and by the end of their set the crowd were singing and swaying along with the band.
Head of Music Samantha Wood said, “It was an extremely proud moment as all students represented the school with style, and it felt brilliant to be able to play live to an audience again. We are now looking forward to enjoying a more normal year of Music at TPS including live events- watch this space!”
