Year 9 student Elliott S has been playing rugby since he was 5 years old, training with Havant Rugby Club. Elliott recently travelled to Middlesex to trial for the U14s Development Players Programme with London Irish Rugby Club.

Elliott was successful in the trial, securing a place on the programme which will see him attend weekly training sessions in Southampton. It is a huge achievement for him and out of the 15 boys from Havant Rugby Club that trialled, he was the only one that got through.
He was due to start training but unfortunately, two weeks ago, he broke his wrist – playing rugby! After a tricky operation he is now in a full arm cast for the next 6 weeks, but he has taken it all in his stride and is keeping positive.
Elliott said, “I am passionate about rugby and would like to play professionally in the future. Being part of the Development Players Programme with London Irish is a step towards achieving my dream!”
