Former TPS students Dexter Garrett and Ed Stephens-Truman have been at Aldershot Town FC for the past two years, combining football and college work. A talent scout put the boys forward for US football scholarships, and they received 12 and 10 offers each! They both decided to choose Upper Iowa University in Fayette, and will be heading out there at the end of July for the pre-season before embarking on a degree – most likely a Business Masters for Dexter and Sports Business for Ed.
Dexter said, “It’s really exciting and I can’t wait to get out there! And my friend Ed has also got into Iowa, so we will start this new phase of our lives at the same time!”
Ed said, “It’s really funny that we’ve ended up at the same Uni – we have been friends since we met at TPS in Year 7 and sat next to each other in nearly every class!”
