Ben L in Year 8 wrote a poem in the summer term of Year 7 for our BET Creative Writing competition and his poem was selected as the best poem from all the TPS poems entered. George the Poet was one of the judges of the competition and wrote the following:
“Ben, I was blown away by how clever your poem was. I’ve been a poet for like years and I’ve never thought to do a poem that could be read backwards. You packed a lot of love and pride into this, without avoiding criticisms of your city. Great job!”
Ben is now working on another BET competition in class – writing a short story based on “On The Sidewalk Bleeding”, looking at different perspectives. Ben said, “I have written from the sidewalk’s point of view. I like writing, but I need to work on my spelling!”
