After being selected by the Pony Racing Authority to attend a 12-week training programme to learn to be a jockey, Year 8 Evie L was recently given the opportunity to race at the Ascot Race Track!
She competed for the first time on a pony who also had never raced before, and she came third!!! Evie had trained very hard, overcoming sore knees, and she put everything she had into this race.
Evie has been riding for 7 years at Greatham Equestrian Centre, training 4 times a week, and she is now considering applying for the graduate scheme. Well done, Evie!
