Just before half term, Year 9 Finn A joined Dutch Paralympian long jumper Fleur Jong and another student with visual impairment, Florence, for a day’s filming for her #Move Now training series on YouTube –
Fleur won Gold in the women’s long jump at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo and set a new world record. In June 2021 she won two Gold medals at the World Para Athletics European Championships in Poland, setting new world records.
Finn and Florence spent a day at the London Studios, filming with Fleur. The Gold medallist put the two students through their paces with a series of professional training drills and warm-up exercises designed to help people with physical challenges get moving.
He said, “It was brilliant! We were treated like VIPs with a private car, lots of lovely food, and in between filming we enjoyed chatting with Fleur!”
