Today we marked Holocaust Memorial Day.
Year 7 students listened to a pre-recorded interview with Holocaust survivor Zigi Shipper, who sadly died only last week, and we would like to pay tribute to him and his work for Holocaust education.
Years 8 to 10 students participated in a live webcast from Ruth Posen who survived the Holocaust after being sent as a prisoner after the Warsaw Uprising. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions after her interview.
As a school, we recognise the importance of educating our students about this very dark time in history, especially as nearly 80 years later, there are fewer survivors left to tell their story.
