TPS welcomed Lord Robert Winston, Professor of Science & Society, and one of the world’s leading experts in fertility treatments.
Lord Winston joined our Senior Prefect team in the Library for lunchtime and talked about his career before moving on to the Studio to talk to Year 10 students who had science lessons, about cells and fertilisation, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Lord Winston has been a peer in the House of Lords since 1995 and has presented countless BBC TV series including “Child of our Time”, “Your Life in their Hands”, and the BAFTA Award-winning “The Human Body”. He is the Chairman of the Genesis Research Trust which promotes better health for women and babies, and includes the Women for Women campaign that raises money to train women scientists and clinicians at the Wolfson and Weston Research Centre for Family Health at Imperial College London.
It was an honour and a privilege to listen to Lord Winston and have him as our guest.
