Recently, Year 9s Millie Green and Ben Charlesworth took part in a Mathematics Olympiad. It was the second round of the Maths Challenge that they qualified for as their first round scores were so brilliant. Only 4000 students across the UK qualify for this each year and they both achieved a Merit, putting them in the top 2,500 Year 9 mathematicians in the country!
Millie said, “I was very pleased because I didn’t expect to do so well – when I saw the questions, they were really challenging!”
Ben added, “I’m proud to have managed to achieve that level.”
Maths teacher Adam Keer concluded, “The students’ achievement is something they should be very proud of!”
