This morning we officially opened our new solar panel PV system.
The Eco Club were delighted to be joined by a number of guests who have helped along the way: Maja Ostersen – former student and Eco Prefect (2022), Councillor Robert Mocatta, representing EHDC’s Climate Grant scheme, Catriona Cockburn from Energise South Downs, and Martin Heath from Basingstoke Energy Services.
TPS now has a total of 110kWp of solar panels on its roofs, self-funded through the school community and via grants, which will generate up to a third of our energy needs and save nearly 100 tonnes of carbon.
Eco Club Coordinator, Suz Lambert, said, “Moving away from fossil fuels is essential in this current age and we are delighted to be leading the way on this for Hampshire secondary schools.”
