The Food Teachers Centre FISH Hero programme is a scheme to get children cooking with fish, and TPS was selected as one of only 150 schools nationwide to receive 8kg of fresh mussels!
Food Tech students in all years learned how to prepare, cook and eat mussels, which are a sustainable, low cost source of protein, and which are environmentally friendly and nutritious.
The students prepared mussels with tomatoes and garlic, and even the most reluctant or suspicious amongst them tasted their creations, and all 8kg were eaten!
