Last weekend, a number of TPS students competed at the TAGB (Taewondo) Welsh Championships.
Year 9 Aimie H won Silver Individual Sparring and Silver Team Sparring; Year 10s Lucy H won Gold Individual Sparring and Silver Team Sparring; Charlotte L won Gold Individual Sparring and Silver Team Patterns, and Nicole P-S won Gold Individual Sparring; and Year 7 Wiktoria C won Bronze Individual Sparring.
Year 8 Ethan L-M won Bronze in individual sparring and Gold in team sparring. Ethan’s division is for heavyweight Black Belt boys and due to his height, he normally fights against 14 year-olds. Ethan only turned 13 in March, so it is an amazing achievement!
Their trainer, Colin Sayer, said, “All the students worked really hard in the run up and over the weekend for these results. They all showed good perseverance and indomitable spirit, which are two of the cornerstones of Taekwondo training!”
